1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 4-Speed

Metallic Copper paint and two-tone Z28 vinyl stripes carry the period exterior package; body-colored bumpers, front and rear spoilers, faux fender vents, and a faux hood scoop are all present. The paint and vinyl stripes were replaced during the refurbishment; close-up photos are in the gallery. Copper-finished 15-inch wheels with Z28 center caps and bright trim rings wear 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires, the factory Z28 tire specification for this generation.

The Hurst shifter rising from the center console is the cabin's most deliberate detail, the correct period pairing for a T10 four-speed in a Z28. Tan vinyl upholstery covers the seats after a refurbishment; a rope-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 130-mph speedometer and tachometer alongside gauges for fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. A Kenwood CD stereo and rear speaker occupy the center stack; an electric clock and lockable glovebox are also present. Air conditioning is fitted, converted to R-134a in 2023.

The 350ci V8 was rebuilt and bored 0.030 (block number 19L517387) over by G&B Machine Shop in Terre Haute, Indiana in 2017 — a four-barrel carburetor feeds a blue-finished intake manifold, with matching valve covers. The T10 four-speed was rebuilt the same year by Twin City Automotive in Charleston, Illinois; a 3.73:1 Positraction rear axle receives the output. Power steering and power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes are fitted; rear leaf springs were also replaced in 2017. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers is installed. The five-digit odometer shows 85,000 miles; total mileage is unknown.
